Seafood Cook Off

I love seafood especially shrimps. Seafoods are healthy because they are high in omega-3 fatty acids which help reduce the risk of heart disease. I remember one research shows that the high percentage of good fats in shrimp reduces the impact of cholesterol. The shrimp is lower in grease and calories that the beef, the chicken or the hog.

But here’s a tip for you. When planning to cook your favorite seafood dish, make sure you are buying the domestic seafood, because nothing beats the freshness of the domestic seafoods.

Anyway, speaking of seafood, I found a website called Great American Seafood Cook Off. They are featuring Seafood Cook off since 5 years ago. Chefs are competing each other in cooking seafoods. Great American Seafood Cook Off is one of America’s most prestigious culinary competitions and it not only showcases the chef's art, but it promotes positiveness of domestic seafood sustainability, and the simplicity of cooking seafood at home.

Since this site listed the top five recipes, I checked them one by one. All of the dishes looks yummy, but my favorite is Texas Gulf Shrimp by Chef Mark Holley of Texas. I voted for Texas Gulf Shrimp not only because it is shrimp but also it looks easy to cook, very healthy and easy on the budget.

So if you want to try new seafood recipes, you may visit Great American Seafood cook off at http://www.greatamericanseafoodcookoff.com/ Once you're there don't forget to vote for your favorite recipe to get a chance to win a trip to New Orleans prize package.
