Cisco Certification

My husband wants to apply for an IT position in a call center, but he mentioned that he needs to be a Cisco Certified. I'm not techie person, so I researched on the Cisco certification.

What is Cisco?

I learned that Cisco enables people to make powerful connections-whether in business, education, philanthropy, or creativity. Cisco hardware, software, and service offerings are used to create the Internet solutions that make networks possible-providing easy access to information anywhere, at any time. Cisco was founded in 1984 by a small group of computer scientists from Stanford University. Since the company's inception, Cisco engineers have been leaders in the development of Internet Protocol (IP)-based networking technologies.

What does Cisco certification offer?

Associate, Professional and Expert (CCIE representing the highest level of achievement) are the three levels of certification Cisco offers currently. Also, various track, such as Routing and Switching, Network Security, and Service Provider, are available, so that you can match your certification path to your job role or industry. In addition to general certifications, network professionals can enhance their core networking knowledge by achieving specialist certification in technologies such as security, IP telephony, and wireless. And lastly, wireless LAN Certifications and IP Communications Certifications are just a few under their specialized program.

Having a Cisco certification has an edge to the IT industry. The trainings and Cisco certification will enable you to obtain required links with other companies. The benefits of training will go far beyond having ready knowledge to work or apply for a job. It will enable you to grow and influence others in the future.

Not only that, Cisco Certification can help you earn more. According to salary survey by Certification Magazine, Cisco Certified Network Associates (CCNAs), the lowest level of Cisco certification, earn an average salary of nearly $60,000 a year while annual starting salaries for Cisco Certified Internetworking Experts (CCIEs), the highest level, stretch to over $100,000. Cisco Certified Network Professionals (CCNPs) fall in the middle. To make a long story short, Cisco certifications help IT professionals earn more.

So if you are interested in networking field or if you are working in networking domain Cisco certification will definitely help you.
