Which do you prefer...Coke or Pepsi?

Coke or Pepsi? Ford or Toyota? McDonald's or Jollibee? Growing up in this generation, we had the opportunity to witness some of the most pronounced advertising campaign's in history. The battle of the brands!

Coca Cola, red and white, classic...'the real thing' vs. Pepsi, red, white and blue, rap stars and pop icons. Are these some of the thoughts that come to mind when you think about the two products?

Some say Pepsi has a sweeter, slightly sharper taste than Coke. Some say Pepsi tastes better when eating salty foods, especially potato chips or popcorn.

But for me, there is no comparison. I grew up as Coke fan . Coke is full of body and excitement. Coke completes a meal, like Pepsi never could. Nothing tastes better than to wash down a big, juicy, double cheeseburger than with an ice cold Coke. And, pizza, I mean really, is there anything any better than a pitcher of Coke with your favorite pizza? Same for hot dogs, hot buttered popcorn, and potato chips.

Coke is fulfilling and satisfying. There is nothing better than an icy cold Coke on a hot summer day. Coke stands up to ice, and goes down smooth and cool, instantly refreshing you with the great Cola taste.

How about you? Vote now and you could win a 1 year supply of the cola of your choice!

Pull the Trigger

The recent Supreme Court decision that the Second Amendment grants a personal right to own a firearm contains some reasoning that I regard as specious. Justice Antonin Scalia, who wrote the majority opinion, repeated the plaintiff’s argument who asserted that he needed a hand gun for protection against the criminals and murderers who infest Washington, DC. Justice Scalia, who does not find a “right of privacy” in the constitution, does find a “right of self-defense” there. Further, ownership of firearms provides individuals with this right of defending themselves.

Funny, when I answered the conversation in Dneero, I agreed that we should have a right to own a handgun. But I realized, the ownership of a hand gun does not provide a sure defense against a thief, mugger, or murderer. The only rational reason for owning a gun is personal protection, protection from others that have guns. If there were no guns then the reason for having one would would not exist. Remember, guns are tools. They are tools made for a specific purpose, and that purpose is to kill. It may increase the violence rate...

The Best Gift Ever

--- The Best Gift Ever ---

A young man was getting ready to graduate from college.
For many months he had admired a beautiful sports car in a dealer's showroom and knowing his father could well afford it, he told him that was all he wanted.
As Graduation Day approached, the young man awaited signs that his father had purchased the car.

Finally, on the morning of his graduation his father called him into his private study.
His father told him how proud he was to have such a fine son, and told him how much he loved him.
He handed his son a beautiful wrapped gift box.
Curious, but somewhat disappointed, the young man opened the box and found a lovely, leather-bound Bible, with the young man's name embossed in gold.
Angrily, he raised his voice to his father and said,
"With all your money you give me a Bible?"
And stormed out of the house, leaving the Bible.

Many years passed and the young man was very successful in business.
He had a beautiful home and wonderful family, but realized his father was very old and thought perhaps he should go to him.
He had not seen him since that graduation day.
Before he could make arrangements, he received a telegram telling him his father had passed away, and willed all of his possessions to his son.
He needed to come home immediately and take care of things.
When he arrived at his father's house, sudden sadness and regret filled his heart.

He began to search through his father's important papers and saw the still new Bible, just as he had left it years ago.
With tears, he opened the Bible and began to turn the pages.
His father had carefully underlined a verse, Matt 7:11,
"And if ye, being evil know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more shall your Heavenly father which is in heaven, give to those who ask Him?"
As he read those words, a car key dropped from the back of the Bible.
It had a tag with the dealer's name, the same dealer who had the sports car he had desired.
On the tag was the date of his graduation, and the words...
PAID IN FULL.

How many times do we miss God's blessing because they are not packaged as we expected? I trust you enjoyed this. Pass it on to others. Do not spoil what you have by desiring what you have not; but remember that what you now have was once among the things you only hoped for...

PLEASE SEND THIS TO AT LEAST FIVE PEOPLE SO AS TO LET THIS GREAT LESSON FLOW AROUND.

♥ Romantic Idea 27 ♥

Contact your partner's family and ask if there was anything she always wanted when she was a little girl.

For example if she always wanted a porcelain doll, buy one for her birthday. She will not only appreciate the gift but also the fact that you were thoughtful enough to find out what she always wanted.

Do you know of a song that just cracks you up every time you listen to it?

Earn Money In Seconds

I found a site called TakeTheGlobe. It is a new innovative, international and FREE English based service that allows advertisers to reach thousands of potential customers by displaying their ad on our, "Surf Ads" page.

I've read positive feedback about TakeTheGlobe and the site pays fast. That's the reason I joined. I'm really choosy about joining PTC sites because of the rampant PTC scam sites coming out.

TakeTheGlobe has more than 30 ads for free members and 50+ ads for premium members. Site pays:

Per click $ 0.005
Per referral click $ 0.0025
Per premium click $ 0.01
Premium referral click $ 0.005
Alertpay Payout $ 10.00

Thank You From A Noob

I would consider myself as a noob in blogging even though I started blogging since 2007. This is the only time I take blogging seriously.

And for that, I would like to thank the following:

Aispinay taught me a lot about blogging (social bookmarking, adsense, css codes, page elements, traffics and more). She was the first visitor of my blog... Thank you and I miss you. We haven't talk in a while.

Trixie (my cousin): Thanks for sharing Kuler (that's where I got my color scheme), and for making my banner for free...

Zriz: Thanks for the Blog Buster site, it really helps me a lot. Also, thanks for the buzz.

Mommy Ruby: Thank you for making PMC (a great community for Filipina Mommy Bloggers and Friends.) I gain so many friends with PMC. Thanks for including me in your projects like Pexlinks Triple Love; for giving me codes for my site, for the money-making-sites, and for editing my badge.

Lastly, I would like to thank all of my loving blogger friends that made my blogging life worth blogging for.

What is LOVE?

I got this from Mommy Ruby of Pinay Mommy Online. Thanks Mommy....

"Love is friendship set on fire."
"Love is the master key that opens the gates of happiness."
"Love doesn't make the world go round, love is what makes the ride worthwhile."
"Love is like a violin. The music may stop now and then, but the strings remain forever."
"Love is embracing differences and discovering ways in which to build a common lifestyle, share decision-making, and taking equal responsibility for the results."

What Is Love?

One must understand whether "what is love" can be a question which can be answered? Love cannot be a question. For, if it is a question then an answer should be there. If the answer is there, where is it? This question is ancient and an answer should have been found by now! If the answer has been found, the question would have disappeared.

But the question still remains, meaning the answer has not been found. If it has not been found as yet, then what is the certainty that it will be found? Maybe the mind can never find the answer! A single answer, which will please all minds, is not possible for each mind has its own ideas of love. Hence a universal answer is an illusion.

Individual answers are there for love and for this very reason there are arguments about love for each mind will contradict the answer of another mind. This contradiction is normal for each mind lives in a different point in time. Hence "what is love" is an illusionary question, which has no answer! - Dr. Vijai S. Shankar

And while I was doing this tag, All You Need Is Love played on my mp3 player. What a coincidence, right? So I decided to include it to my post. So here it is...

"All You Need is Love!"

"All You Need Is Love" was written by John Lennon and Paul McCartney for the "Our World" live television spectacular performed by the Beatles in June, 1967. 400 million people around the world saw the program. The number was included on the Yellow Submarine album.

Frank death toll reaches at least 80

Fengshen has already killed at 59 people in the central Philippine province of Iloilo and the death toll could rise further after flash flooding from Typhoon Frank (international codename Fengshen) washed out communities. This includes an 8-year old girl and her grandfather who were buried in a "trash slide" at a rubbish dump in Cotabato City.

At least 30,000 people were marooned on their rooftops in Iloilo province after a massive flood when a dam broke.

While, at least 80 people have been reported killed since the storm hit on Friday. Hundreds of people on board a passenger ferry remain unaccounted for after the vessel capsized in Romblon.

Four people have been confirmed dead and one crewmember were rescued when the MV Princess of the Stars turned upside down.

Thousands of people across Luzon have also been affected by the heavy downpour while some areas were left without electricity as Typhoon Frank battered the country.

Ferry sinks off Romblon; fate of 823 passengers unknown

Earlier, I posted about my unfortunate day. I was wrong. I realized I'm still lucky. I texted my mom about our situation. After 30 minutes, here comes my mom to the rescue. She brought us groceries and lunch. Yipee...

Anyway, we had a little chitchat about the typhoon. I was shocked when she mentioned that a passenger ship carrying 823 people sunk off the coast of Sibuyan Island in the central Philippines after encountering huge wages brought by typhoon "Frank" (international codename Fengshen).

According to the news, the M/V Princess of the Star sent a distress signal late on Saturday from the area after becoming stranded when Typhoon Fengshen swept across the country. By late Saturday night, there were no more communications received from the ship.

Three Navy vessels have been readied to rescue the passengers and crew. The vessel nearest the area, the PG378 stationed in Masbate province, had to abort its rescue mission due to "gigantic waves, pounding rain, and gusty winds.

Police in the town of San Fernando in Romblon province reported that the MV Princess of Stars of Sulpicio Lines was found upside down off the coast of the town. The ferry capsized about three to four kilometers (1.8 to 2.4 miles) off San Fernando town.

Two of fatalities, estimated to be 40 years old and believed to be a couple, were tied to an unidentified object. The other female victim was estimated to be in her 60s while the other male victim was in his 50s. Childrens' slippers were scattered on the shoreline.

President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo directed the defense and local government departments to stand by for relief and rescue missions before she left for the United States late Saturday.

This news really saddens me. Let's pray for the safety of our fellow Filipinos.

My Unfortunate Day

Yesterday, a friend of mine (from Melbourne, Florida) said that there will be a typhoon in Manila. I just said, "How did you know?" I did not believe her at first, because I was in my office and I did not know what was happening outside. Until, my husband called me saying that there's a typhoon and that we should buy some food.

Around 6 am, I was out of the office already. Though I was aware of the typhoon, I ended up doing my normal activities for the day (that is blogging).

At 7 p.m., it was a bit rainy and cold, I slept because I was very tired. I was awake for more than 24 hours. In my mind I said, "yes, I can sleep well today."

I woke up 3 in the morning, thinking that my husband is still asleep (so I will be the first one to use our PC). But to my surprise, my husband was awake. He said. "brown out". We don't have electricity. huhuhu... And he said, "look to your left (our window)" I said, "OMG (oh my God)." It was raining hard. So, I had no choice, I sleep again.

7 am, I woke up because I was hungry. Waaaaaah! We don't have food in the fridge. I tried our cabinets, and unfortunately, no food. We forgot to buy some food.

Grocery is 30 to 45 minutes away. With the typhoon, flood is expected in our area... Good thing I have some oatmeal left, I guess we will eat that for the day....

After filling out a questions at dNeero.com, you've already reserved some money for your effort... but haven't earned it yet. To capture that money all you have to do is post your answers to your blog and generate some traffic for a few days (all you have to do is copy-and-paste a single line of code). Your blog readers will see your answers along with any other thoughts you had about the conversation. Your readers can then join the conversation, or see how others from your blog answered. If they join the conversation and get paid, dNeero pay you a recruitment fee based on what they earn.

As of now, I have $1.59 in my account. I need to have $20 to get it. For security and ease-of-use, dNeero sends payment to your PayPal account. If you don't have PayPal account, don't worry. Sign up here. Setting up a PayPal account takes only minutes. Once you have a PayPal account you simply enter your PayPal address (usually your email address) into the dNeero system on your account settings page so that dNeero can send you the money.
