Oh My Gosh! I just found out I have not updated this since you last visited... You would not believe how insane my life has become. Unbelievable.

I am overwhelmed with keeping up with my favourite daytime soaps, watching Dexter, just generally being a Darling to my husband, my day starts from 3am to 11pm at which point I fall asleep on the couch. I am totally exhausted. I need a nap.

Aeirin's Collections New Look

Since I had nothing to do this morning, I decided to change the lay out of my blog. It took me almost 8 hours to do this. You want to know why? Simply because when I was almost done with the widgets, I accidentally deleted some of the scripts then I hit Save. To make the story short, I had to start all over again. So, this is a lesson learned for me. Remember: before editing your template, save a copy of it just in case something might happen.

Amazon S3 are experiencing serious problems

At 12 midnight Manila, I decided to Surf and Drop, however, EC widget is not showing on all of the site I visited. I checked Entrecard's website, and here what their site looks like:


I was going crazy and I was wondering what happened..... until I saw the message on my dashboard:

@ 7/20 16:35 Outage Notice: Entrecard widgets temporarily down. Also, images and general site features. It's amazon's fault this time.

This is causing problems with widget loading and various image parts of the Entrecard.com site. We're very sorry about this but there isn't any way we can resolve this issue at this time, we're just going to have to wait it out. More information as it comes to hand.

However, they got no ETA from Amazon and based on Amazon's reports, it make take a couple of hours. So, I guess no Surf and Drop for me this time..

Stolen Blog

I just want to share this to you...

Ruby, the owner of www.pinaymommyonline.com was accused as a fake user by ReviewMe. Apparently, her blog was used by "another blogger". According to ReveiwMe, the "another blogger" is the legitimate owner of this blog as their records shown, and that pinay.mommy (which is Mommy Ruby) is a fake user since 2007.

I heard about stolen blog post or contents, but stolen blog?? This is not good.

As Mommy Ruby said, "Your blogs can now be virtually stolen. You never know that somebody might be using your blogs and you to benefit from other get paid to blog companies." So guys, better watch out...

Update on the Entrecard datacenter, ThePlanet

Today 12:55 AM:

After the fire marshall inspected the H1 location, ThePlanet was given the green light to bring power back to the facility. The generators have been turned on, and they are receiving power on the second floor. The generator power restoration is the first step in the full restoration of service to the data center.

From here, they will begin the process of cooling the DC floor, which could take a few hours. As soon as the power integrity is confirmed and the DC floor is ready for operation, they will be restoring power and checking server hardware on a rack-by-rack basis.

Today 1:55 AM:

Following the restoration of power to the second floor of the data center, they've cooled the data center floor and are now in the process of systematically restoring power to racks.

They've got a full staff in the data center to power up racks in sections and verify that the server hardware starts up successfully. This process may take a few hours to restore service to all customer servers on the second floor.

Today 03:05 AM:

They are continuing the process of turning on and verifying hardware integrity of customer servers on the second floor of H1.

Their network operations team is currently working on the ev1servers.net nameservers to ensure that they are online, are routed to correctly, and propogate as quickly as possible.

Servercommand is currently online and accessible.

Entrecard is still down. There are no ETA at this time. The outage is pretty serious. They've got teams of people there and they're working through the night. The networking teams are ensuring connectivity to bring ServerCommand back online. Their primary focus is to hit their 5:00pm CDT initial power test and all necessary staff are onsite and are working diligently to hit this deadline. Additional staff and spare server hardware is being delivered in on site in preparation for bringing customer servers online pending a successful power test.

This morning, I logged in to my Entrecard account, there is a note saying "There was a fire at our datacenter resulting in the failure of some of our systems, our database server appears to be offline still, we're working on it and we're really sorry about the issues at this time. more information arriving shortly."

I also received an email fro Entrecard:

Unfortunately, there has been an electrical fire at the data center housing Entrecard’s servers. The servers have not been damaged, but the site may be down for as long as 12 hours.

Thank you for your pateince and understanding with this rare and frustrating problem. Unfortunately, there is absolutely nothing we can do but wait for The Planet to get their datacenter back online.

Entrecard's data center, ThePlanet, suffered from an electrical fire. Today at approximately 5:45 p.m., a transformer in ThePlanet's H1 data center in Houston caught fire, thus requiring them to take down all generators as instructed by the fire department. All servers are down. Good thing, no servers in the data center have been damaged. They are down because power is out.

Compress or optimize your images, to make a better download. Your home page should be 40K or less in file size -this including graphics, so put away those blinkers, spinners, scrolling marquees, sounds, counters, plug-ins, JavaScript Pop-Up Windows, etc...

Check your background. Can you read the text, or do you need a special pair of glasses to decipher the black text form the purple background? Keep it simple!

5) Easy to use navigation?
Can your visitors get to point A from point B without getting lost? It's important to use easy navigation. If your site is getting more complicated by time, use a site map or a search function to simplify things.

6) Well designed Title and Meta Tags?

If you think a storefront should have a choice of doors that lead to your competitors,
then you're probably to good hearted for this business, no?

8) Correct typography and grammar?

9) Broken links are annoying, frustrating and unprofessional. Don't make your visitors mad because you waste their precious time.

10) Loading graphics?
Missing graphics are all over the Web -very "unprofessional" if not unacceptable!

Only if you have honestly answered yes to these questions, then you can seriously start promoting.
