My first Sony experience is with my Sony Walkman

It’s really good to reminisce the past! Looking back, I can only smile to those silly things I have done. But what I can’t really forget is those happy times when I was in high school – the most memorable part of one’s life, agree?

Since during those good ‘ol days, mp3, mp4 and iPod, among others, were just in our imagination, all I have to boast is my Sony Walkman. I had it for more than two years. Talking about quality products….

Since I’m the only one, I think (lol), who had this “hi-tech” gadget that time, I instantly became popular at school and many befriended me. And guess what?! One of them is my crush…. (giggles). At that time, I really felt lucky to own a Sony Walkman, through it, I don’t need to swoon over him so he’d just look at me.

Sony Walkman
Sony WalkmanMy classmates and friends are literally falling in line to borrow my walkman. Yes, that’s really true! (my school was just a small one and belongs to the “never-heard -schools”). When it’s my crush’s turn to borrow it, I’ll act as if I don’t like him to borrow it. I even told him that I can’t enjoy listening to my favorite musics/bands anymore because they’re always borrowing it.

Luckily, my strategy worked and he’d plea to borrow it. After some pleas and refusals, I would agree but on one condition. Of course, he’ll ask, “what’s that?” I just simply replied, “We share”. In short, we both listen to my Sony Walkman, and I, at that time, was very very happy to be with him, beside him, actually…

There were also some times where I’m not listening to my professor but to my walkman, instead. My crush would even sit beside me, we’d hide the walkman and share the earphones. Oh, that was heaven for me! Honestly, I’m giggling right now remembering those times (lol).

Those were the days… (sighs)… I just wish I still have my Sony Walkman now and not just those pictures…Actually, I lost it since we have been moving homes a lot of times, so it was misplaced. But what we have until now is the Sony VHS at my mom’s place and surprisingly, it’s still in perfect condition, though we seldom use it now due to the advent of a much sophisticated and multifunctional DVD’s.

Anyway, it (my Sony Walkman) definitely gave significance in my life just like the Sony’s World’s First World’s First Slimmest Camera with Optical Image Stabilizer: Cyber-Shot T77, which is not just slim and stylish but also handy that I can carry it anywhere, anytime especially during blogger's event like the Sony Expo event.

Click

Like Adam Sandler in the movie Click, I have troubles locating our television remote control. Most of the time, I am confused between our TV and home theater remote control, and that drives me to look for a universal remote control.

While looking for a remote online, I came across Gadget Advisor. It is a resource for gadgets and technology news. It has reviews of the latest and hottest gadgets in the market today, from network media player, game console, Walkman, and of course universal remote control. When you have time, check out their evaluation of online backup services as they may be helpful if you are serious about having online backup protection.

Ultimate Wireless Outdoor Speaker

I love to party! And when it comes to party, sound system is a must. I don't want to bore to death.

But one time, I held a party for my birthday. I was in charge with the sound system and set up. And I can say it was not that easy. I had problem placing the speakers on the corner because we had short wires. I had no choice, I placed the speakers in the middle of our backyard. It was quite disastrous, the speakers are blocking the way.

During that time, I wish I should have known bout the Outcast speaker. Outcast is an all-weather outdoor speaker system designed to provide high performance full range music in the yard or patio. With a 350-foot broadcast range, this powerful wireless speaker receives transmissions through walls, floors, and ceilings without the hassle of running wires. And becasue of its effortless plug and play installation, no complex programming and a simple, sleek interface, even celebrities like Sean "P Diddy" Combs are using Outcast speakers.

The Ultimate Wireless Outdoor Speaker also includes an input jack for direct connection of an MP3 player, which is very useful for playing music directly from any MP3 system. Not to mention, all Outcast systems have controls for volume, on/off, and mood lighting.

So if you are looking for wireless speakers, you may want to check out Outcast speaker from Soundcast, so you can party like P. Diddy

World's first car on land and under water

Nope. It has not crashed. That is the RHINSPEED SQUBA. It is the world's first car that can be driven both on land and under water.

The ‘sQuba’ is a zero-emission car as documented by the rotating license plate in the rear.

Power is supplied by rechargeable Lithium-Ion batteries.

Three electric motor are located at the rear of the sQuba. One provides propulsion on land, while two drive the the screws for underwater vroooming.

It drives on land powered by its electric rear-wheel drive powertrain, utilizing rechargeable lithium-ion batteries. Upon entering water, it floats on the surface until the operator floods the interior to submerge it. It can be submerged to a depth of 10 meters (33 ft), powered by twin electric-powered propellers supplemented by two Seabob water jets. It "flies" when underwater, like a submarine, as it is not designed to drive along the surface at the bottom of the water. The car's top land speed is 120 km/h (75 mph). On the surface of water, the top speed is 6 km/h (3.2 kn/3.7 mph) and underwater it is 3 km/h (1.6 kn/1.9 mph

An open top means the car's mobility isn't hampered by trapped air and stops you from getting stuck, which of course could cause death.

It has a scuba-tank of compressed air, which means you don't have to hold your breath while motoring. Without occupants, the sQuba will surface automatically.

The twin water jets mounted on rotating louvers at the front of the vehicle provide steering and lift while it is underwater and the propellers at the rear provide forward movement.

If you drive into the sea or river, it changes the power from the rear wheels to pump.

The vehicle's interior is water and salt resistant so that it can be driven in the ocean. The alloy wheels are lightweight and resistant to sea water, thanks to special paint from German alloy wheel manufacturer AEZ.

With it's shimmering silver nad bright yellow contrasts interior will make squid wave at you, and whales want to hump you.

The sQuba has wheels to take to the road at speeds of up to about 100kph, and can even drive itself thanks to a laser sensor.

The sQuba is purely a concept at the moment, but it could go into production if we wish hard enough.

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T300

On my previous post, I mentioned I want to have my own camera.

Finding the right camera is not easy, especially when there are so many cameras to choose from. My sister recommends Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T300. So I decided to check it out.

Specification:
  • 10.1 Mega Pixels with Super HAD CCD
  • Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar with 5x Optical Zoom
  • 3.5" 16:9 Wide and Touch LCD Screen
  • Smile Shutter
  • Intelligent Scene Recognition
  • Bionz Image Processing Engine
  • Super SteadyShot
  • High ISO3200 Sensitivity with Clear RAW Noise Reduction
DSC-T300 is the latest in its line of touch-controlled slim digital cameras.

Smile Shutter: Sony's revolutionary Smile Shutter Feature is designed to automatically snap only when the person is smiling. Simply select Smile Shutter from the scene selection mode and you are ready to shoot picture-prefect smiles.

Also, this camera can differentiate between the faces of children and adults. Simply select “child priority” or “adult priority,” and the camera will automatically detect up to eight faces in the camera frame, adjusting focus, exposure, white balance and flash for the subjects that matter most.

But if you are into details, DSC T300 has a problem with picture quality. Photos generally look soft and noisy, with haloing along edges. Picture quality does not quite match up to the very best.

LOVE: Fast performance; tons of handy image editing and playback features; smile shutter feature; 3.5-inch touch screen Clear Photo LCD PlusTM LCD screen for easy navigation and framing

HATE: Soft, noisy photos

The bottom line: If your main consideration is design, as long as the camera can still take a decent snap, then the DSC T300 is well worth considering.

Vertu - One of the World's Expensive Phones

There has been a rumor that Gwyneth Paltrow, Brad Pitt and David Beckham own one of these luxurious phones.

Nokia is the parent company of Vertu - a British-based manufacturer and retailer of luxury mobile phones. Their concept is to make mobile phones in the same vein as luxury watch manufacturers like Rolex, IWC and Patek Philippe.

The mobile phones are made from expensive materials such as gold, sapphire (for the mobile screen), rubies (for the bearings) and fine leather. Whoah, those are very expensive! They say "Every Vertu handset is exceptional. Each one is painstakingly built by hand in England by highly-skilled craftsmen."

Vertu said something that will appeal to the international jet-setter will be the Vertu Concierge service. It is accessed through a special button, the "Concierge key" at the side of every phone. The service comprises a team of assistants to help the owner around the clock. If you like Italian pizza, they’ll book you a private plane to Italy. No joke!

Vertu Signature Cobra

The most expensive model it has ever made is the Signature Cobra, at US$310,000 (€217,000). It boasts a pear-cut diamond, one round white diamond, two emerald eyes and over 400 rubies. Only 8 are being made so if you can justify spending $310,000 on a cell phone you’d better call quick.

Vertu Signature Diamond

The most expensive regular model is the Signature Diamond at US$88,000 (€62,000). Vertu's Signature Diamond Collection consists of handsets made of 18 carat yellow or white gold set with pave diamonds, as well as a platinum handset set with a .25 carat solitaire diamond. Each handset takes craftsmen a total of seven days to complete because they set over 700 diamonds by hand. They're only producing 200 phones, which will be sold exclusively in select jewelry stores.

If I have the money, I'll never buy these phone especially with mobile phone theft rife here in the Philippines.

However, for those interested on these phone, you can purchase them at:

Coming July 11th the iPhone 3G

July 11, 2008, the 3G iPhone will reach the snatching hands of the crazed public. Some of the features sported by this popular device include:

• built-in GPS (A-GPS)
• support for 3G networks
• additional language support
• enhanced email handling
• MobileMe for managing your email, calendar, contacts etc...
• 3.5 inch display
• 8GB or 16GB flash drive
• WiFi and Bluetooth
• 2 megapixel camera with photo geotagging (not sure what that means or how it will work)
• and much more...

The 3G iPhone is presented with the lines: "Twice as fast. Half the price." The price will start at $199.

Lucky for those in the States and the UK, they will be able to get the iPhone 3G on July 11th, the price that was revealed at the WWDC 2008 is $199 which is very affordable indeed.

The iPhone 3G will now be affordable for near on everyone, you will be able to get a 16GB model for $299 which comes in black or white versions, remember back when the 8GB first iPhone came out with price tag of $599 which now sells for $399. The 8GB Apple 3G iPhone will only cost $199. “70 countries this year. We’re going to start with 22 of the biggest, rolling out the iPhone 3G at the same time in all of these countries. July 11.”

This means the maximum amount you will pay around the world for the 16GB model will be $199. The 3G iPhone is the most amazing phone to date there is no doubting that especially with the fact and of course now official with having fast 3G wireless technology, support for enterprise features like Microsoft Exchange and GPS mapping. This new phone makes the first iPhone which I have now look stupid. This new device redefines what a mobile phone really can do and more. This is technology at its best.
